Cook Forest State Park
Step into the quiet of the ancient woodland known as Cook Forest, many sections undisturbed since the days of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania. Named as one of the top 50 state parks across the nation by National Geographic Traveler magazine, Cook Forest welcomes you with 27 marked trails, the Seneca Point Overlook featuring a breathtaking view of the Clarion River, and a 70-foot climb onto the old firetower for a wide-ranging view of the forest.
Clear Creek State Park
Spend the day exploring nearly 1,700 acres of beauty bordered by Clear Creek State Forest and the Clarion River. A variety of stocked and native fish can be found in Clear Creek, Callen Run, and Clear Run making it a fisherman's paradise. For those who just enjoy nature, 25 miles of well-maintained trails meander through the state forest, past rhododendron, mountain laurel, and wildlife. (Please note that the campground will be closed due to major renovations in 2008). |
